The start of the new basketball season in Ukraine is getting closer with each day. Before the start of the tournament, the press service of BC "Prometey" spoke to the team's executive director Dmytro Paliichuk about the club's preparation for the season, the team's rookies and future plans for this game year.

- Dmytro Gennadiyovych, "Prometey" is back to the Superleague. What are your personal feelings on this and what is the main focus of your work now?

- Now, we are making plans for the upcoming season. There are many open questions, because we want to do everything well, because the Superleague is already a new, higher level. The team has everything needed. The main task for the club is to get ready for future competitions. It is a little bit difficult for the guys now, because they are the main team now and all attention is focused on them. At the moment, the team is training in the sport hall, gaining physical condition. Later, more intensive training will begin, and at the beginning of September we will know who we will play friendly games with.

- This offseason, four players left the team, instead three newcomers arrived - Startsev, Marchenko and Kabatsiura. Who made the decision to invite them?

- It was the head coach's idea to invite these newcomers. Oleksandr Serhiyovych needed some game changes for the Superleague.

- Could you tell, why exactly these players strengthened the team?

- Startsev should calm the playground down. He is a very intelligent player, he can bring the ball out, calm down the game, the team, or, on the contrary, speed the attacks up . Where necessary, to restrain them. Illia Kabatsyura is a player who is be able to break out towards the basket, he is a very athletic guy who can give energy, give the team power both in defence and offense. This is a very good reinforcement for us. Kyrylo Marchenko is a classic "shooter". Where necessary - he can stretch the defence, where it is necessary make a throw - he will do it. Let's believe that this basketball player will succeed doing this wearing the uniform of "Prometey". All the players agreed to play for us without any problems, for them it is an interesting project and experience. In addition, Maksym Sandul, another experienced basketball player, is already playing in the team. Most of the guys already know each other well, so there are no problems with adaptation.

- Should we expect more reinforcements for "Prometey"? Or is the team already fully staffed?

- No, at the moment, the coaching staff said everything suited them, they have enough players. The head coach has a lot of faith in the youth and theplayers who strengthened the team. We also believe that this team is capable of fighting for the highest places.

- Is it known where "Prometey" will play its home matches? In which hall?

- As for now, I can only say that we will definitely play in Slobozhanske. And the issue about the hall is being resolved. Negotiations are underway, we are waiting for the competition calendar. The hall next to us is busy with other sports. We also have our own court. So, the decision has not made yet.

- What are the team's goals for the upcoming season?

- We never discuss specific goals. From the first day, when this team appeared and until today, the only task is to win. Of course, we want to win the Superleague. We will strive to do this. We understand that other teams will have both legionnaires and experienced players. But we have very good athletes. I think, "Prometey" has a great chance to do it.
