The executive director of BC "Prometey", on his Facebook page, announced that the club, which was going to play in the Ukrainian Superleague this year, is ceasing to exist.

"Due to the pressure of law enforcement agencies, our team lost the support of partners who are not ready to bear reputational losses due to participation in our project.
After five years of working in the club, BC "Prometey" has become my home, and the people we work with – my family.
We have been through a lot of things together.
Basketball club "Prometey" is not just a team! We are champions of Ukraine (Superleague), Champions of Ukraine (High League), Winners of the Super Cup of Ukraine, Champions of the Latvian-Estonian League, Finalists of the Cup of Ukraine, Semi-finalists of the EuroCup, quarter-finalists of the EuroCup.
Last season's High League team, under the guidance of Oleksandr Pashchenko, did not suffer a single defeat in the season and brought the club its second league title. "Prometey" also reached the final of the Cup of Ukraine.
The Academy “Prometey”- is the future of Ukrainian basketball. In addition, you have no idea how many thanks we received from parents whose children were obsessed with basketball and could train despite the war.
This spring, we said goodbye to the team "Prometey" Latvia, because keeping the club abroad during the third war year was an overwhelming challenge.
It was difficult to find financing for the upcoming season in Ukraine. It was a titanic effort of our founder, Volodymyr Dubynskyi, and we were happy when we had heard: "Get ready, "Prometey" is into game!"
I think, it is clear for everyone that finding money for sports in a warring country is a miracle! But Volodymyr Mykhailovych led others into sports projects, because this is a trust that was confirmed by number of sports victories.
Anyone who has ever cooperated with "Prometey" knows what a well-coordinated structural work and financial openness it is. Whoever came to us, whoever cooperated, always respectfully emphasized the high level and professional approach of the organization.
In one day, all of us, our families, were deprived of our beloved work, ruined our life's work, because of unsubstantiated, senseless accusations.
For now, we only have hope, hope that there are people in this state who are able to stop this arbitrariness!"
