On September 2 at 15:15, the Ukrainian National basketball team will play their first match at the European Championship in Milan. Our opponent is the Great Britain national team.

We played with this team three times. At EuroBasket 2013, unforgettable for Ukraine, we confidently defeated  Brits 87:68. Two more matches were played as part of the selection for EuroBasket 2011 - exactly 12 years ago, the Ukrainians obtained victory at home (75:66) and lost in away match (90:76).

Thus, none of the four "Prometey" representatives in the national team played with the Brits at the adult level.

Britain is the most mysterious out of all Ukraine's opponents at EuroBasket. The patrials of Queen Elizabeth did not play a single friendly match on the eve of the European Championship, they suffered defeats in two August qualification matches for the 2023 World Cup (they lost to the Belgians on the road - 72:57 and at home to Latvia - (80:87). Brits, like Ukrainians, did not train in Milan on August 31, and just like Ukrainians, canceled training in the evening on September 1 and in the morning on September 2.

It should be noted that in order to advance to the playoffs, it is crucially needed to win today's match. So, at 15:15 Kyiv time we all cheer for Ukraine together!
