In the match of the BKT EuroCup 6th round, “Prometey” played in the capital of Lithuania against “Vilnius Wolves”. The Lithuanian club is a debutantof the prestigious European tournament and it is becoming comfortable in it literally in front of our eyes. Two wins in thelasdt two matches and great balance in the Lithuanian championship (7-1) created excellent psychological condition for the team before today’s confrontation. The other way round, “Prometey” did not succeed in the last matches, however, the “titans” had a great opportunity to rehabilitate for previous mishaps.

The game started rather nervously. The score was opened only in the middle of the second minute when Marcus Keene struck a long-range shot. The “titans” not only set their first leadership but also mostly led in score in the starting quarter at some stage breaking away from “Wolves” by 8 points. The opponent had an extremely low percentage of accurate two-pointers (just 2 successful attempts out of 10 in this ten-minute segment). However, the “wolves” were much more accurate in shots from the perimeter (62.5%). Mostly thanks to this component, they managed not to lose the quarter – 24:24.

The second quarter also went on an equal footing. The “titans” snatched the final of this segment but their advantage before the second half of the match was minimal – 41:40.

In such a competitive confrontation, the spurt by the “wolves” 14:4 in the first half of the third quarter turned out to be rather surprising one. In 28th minute, their handicap rose to 16 points (65:49). At this point, Davon Reed and Issuf Sanon quite timely hit from a far. To play 11 points back in the final of the third quarter was rather difficult but absolutely possible task for the “titans”.

Unfortunately, they failed to solve it. “Prometey” lost with a score of 71:85 and did not manage to move its today’s rival from the 6th position in group A.
