The founder of BC Prometey, Volodymyr Dubynskyi has announced the signing of a new player.
“Friends, we have to announce the reinforcement by an athletic American bigman. Rashard Kelly has signed an agreement with our club. Arnoldas Kulboka’s injury will not allow him to participate in competitions during the nearest 4-6 months, therefore, the coach Neno made a decision on a new player for the team!
Prometey’s rookie was born on August 22, 1995 in Frederiksburg, Virginia, USA. He is 203 cm height and 102 kg weight. Studied at the Wichita State University, which he graduated in 2018. In summer of the same year, Kelly began his career in Europe. He has played for clubs in France, Italy, Turkey, Australia and Lithuania.
The last club for Rashard was Lithuanian Vilnius Wolves, who Prometey will play with twice in the BKT EuroCup group round. In 11 matches for the club from the capital of Lithuania, Rashard Kelly averaged 11.5 points + 5.3 rebounds for 22.6 minutes on the court.
We believe, Rashard will strengthen the team physically and provide defence on his position, will help in rebounds and be reliable in offence as well. Undeniably, he is the best choice now since all top basketball players have already had a team. Another point, we did not want to take someone who had just recovered after an injury.
Kelly was an exception. He remained without a contract as he was practising with several NBA teams (Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, and Toronto Raptors) and finished a mini-camp with Charlotte Hornets. He knew that thanks to his reputation it is possible for him to get a good job offer in Europe even at the end of September, so he took time making his decision.
Rashard, we welcome you in the team. I believe, together we will reach the main victories!” – Volodymyr Dubynskyi, the founder of BC Prometey wrote on his Facebook page.
