Basketball Euroleague announced the appointment of a new president and general director. Three-time Euroleague champion Deyan Bodiroga took in this position. G2 Strategic CEO and long-time Euroleague advisor Marshall Glickman has been appointed as Euroleague Acting CEO, director of its subsidiaries and special advisor to Euroleague Properties.

The founder, Jordi Bertomeu, is leaving 22 years after the founding of the Basketball Euroleague.

Euroleague Basketball (EB) announced replacements in the senior management on Wednesday, September 14.

Dejan Bodiroga played for “Olympia” Milan, “Real” Madrid, “Panathinaikos” and “Barcelona”. At the National team level, he became the world champion twice and won the European championship three times. After the end of his sports career, he held the position of vice-president of the Serbian Basketball Federation (2011-2015), then, he was the president of the FIBA-Europe Competition Commission. Bodiroga will focus on improving the quality and image of the tournament.

"We are entering a new era of the Euroleague, said Bodiroga. Over the past 20 years, Europe's main basketball tournament has claimed itself as the centre of the world sports. I would like to thank Jordi Bertomeu and his team for their vision and hard work; and look forward to continuing to build and expand the impact of the EuroLeague and EuroCup."

Marshall Glickman will take over the business component.

I am very excited to help our friends at the league office and the best clubs in Europe with transition to new management.
