Basketball 2021 in Ukraine ends with a match in Dnipro between the club of the same name and our "Prometey". Probably, it is the best match after which would be nice to get distracted for a short while for celebrating the New Year, as these days the hottest atmosphere in the matches of the domestic calendar is observed exactly in the confrontations of ambitious neighboring clubs.

This duel was supposed to take place in early October, but then "Prometey" was preparing for the start of the Champions League. Today's date of the match is more than relevant for a simple reason: now we are all in the expectation of the New Year's holidays and a portion of great basketball cannot hinder anyone.

Rivals have already held one official battle this season. In November, "Prometey" in all regards defeated "Dnipro" in Slobozhansky - 102:64, which after the match was recognized by the representatives of "Dnipro". At the time, they also hoped  for a two-week break in the championship. So far, we can say that these hopes have come true: "Dnipro" won 5 victories in 7 matches after the break, which was due to the significant improvement of the team's game.

Before the confrontation with Prometey, Dnipro played in Zaporizhzhia last Friday, where they won a well-deserved victory over the local club - 80:67. Dnipro organized their first significant jerk at the end of the first quarter, and then did not lose the lead at all, only once allowing the opponent to get closer to them at a distance of 5 points. Not only Dnipro's starting five (DJ Cooper, Serhiy Pavlov, Issuf Sanon, Vyacheslav Kravtsov, Pavlo Krutous) played very evenly and strongly, but also those players who appeared on the field later(Vitaliy Zotov, Stanislav Timofeenko, Serhiy Zagreb). Kravtsov added 8 rebounds to 23 points (the best result in the match); Sanon, Krutous and Pavlov also achieved the figure of effectiveness “+10”; in the most matches of "Dnipro" in the season, the best assistant was DJ Cooper - 7 assists.

Thus, Dnipro is in a great mood approaching the home confrontation with Prometey. The same refers the team of Ronen Ginzburg, which last week brilliantly proved itself on three fronts - first in the Champions League, and then in the championship and the Cup of the country.
