The women's team of Prometey is the first of the representatives of our club to open the program of official matches of 2022. The current champion of Ukraine on January 8 and 9 at will play with the Odessa club "Litvak Interkhim-SDYSSOR" on the court of SC Slobozhansky. With this match, the teams will catch up the rest of members in the number of games in the Women's Superleague.

At the beginning of October last year, the rivals met in Odessa in the first round, and then "Prometey" obtained two confident victories - 92:53 and 89:63. However, in the second match after 20 minutes of the game, Victoria Bolshakova's team was ahead only for 7 points, and the winning accents were placed in the third quarter, which the "red and whites" won with a score of 20:8.

Since then, Prometey's rival has undergone some changes in composition. First of all, it concerns the heavy forward of the national team of Ukraine Olesya Malashenko, who signed a contract with the French L’ESBVA-LM. Olesya is currently actively preparing for her debut for L’ESBVA-LM in the French championship. The loss of the Odessa club is quite significant: Malashenko was the leader in most of the main statistical indicators of the team and one of the best in the national championship. On average, she scored 23.4 points per match, to which she added 9.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists! At the same time, in the away match of the Women's Superleague against Kyiv-Basket on September 26, Malashenko made a triple-double (22 points + 12 rebounds + 10 assists)!

"Interkhim-SDYSSOR" lost to "Kyiv-Basket" all 4 matches of the regular championship. However, the Odessa team lost only to those teams that are above them it in the standings. Currently, Odessa has a 50 percent result in the championship: 8 wins in 16 matches, which gives the team 4th place in the standings.

It is difficult to say whether Iryna Shchypakina's team will be able in Slobozhansky to get the first victory of the championship over one of its favorites, but they are definitely able to offer a worthy resistance to Prometey. As for "Prometey", for them the upcoming matches will be a good opportunity to regain the rhythm of the game, which will be needed primarily for the confrontation of the 1/8 finals of EuroCup Women with the Belgian "Castors Brain".
