“Prometey” is opening the game programme of the current off-season with a duel against Lithuanian club “Siauliai”.

During recent years, our team’s opponent was mostly in the middle of Lithuanian Superleague LKL tournament standings. Last season. “Siauliai” lacked just one win to advance to the playoffs.

In the off-season, Lithuanian club’s roster was changed by about 40%. 42-year-old Latvian specialist Nikolajs Mazurs has led the team. Now, the club has targeted signing long-term contracts with newcomers, which speaks of the ambitions of “Siauliai” project. Among new recruitments, Slovak giant Tomas Pavelka (217 cm height) attracts our attention. He is well known to the players and coaches of our team, as last season, he played in Estonian “Tartu”. And in general, the entire team distinguishes with the anthropometric indicators of its players. Already now, Lithuanian experts note that “Siauliai” will stand out in the LKL by this indicator.

At the start of the third week of “Prometey” preparatons for the season, the upcoming sparring will be very useful for the team. Ronen Ginzburg’s squad is not having a particular preparation for the match. On the eve of confrontation, an evening practice is scheduled and on the game day – just morning training session without excessive physical exertions.
