Tomorrow, on September 9, “Prometey” will play the second control game of the current off-season. The rival is “Juventus” (Utena, Litva). This club, as well as the previous “Prometey’s” opponent, “Siauliai”, represents the elite Lithuanian league LKL.

As a reminder, two days ago, “Prometey” defeated “Siauliai” with a score of 87:74. Already on their first match after a long break, “titans” demonstrated good basketball. They succeeded in a team play (Davon Reed,Marcus Keene, Illia Sydorov made 6 assists each, Issuf Sanon – 5), transitive offence (especially in the first quarter), rebounds on the opponent’s backboard (in total, 11 in the match). Our team also managed to put some moments right in the course of the game. For example, if in the first half of the game, our rival made 8 rebounds on “Prometey’s” board, then in the second one, they managed just 1.

“Prometey” coaching staff will carry out a detailed analysis of the match tonight. As for tomorrow’s sparring, there is no doubt, it will also be in favour of “red-and-white”. In the previous season, “Juventus” reached better results in the LKL than “Siauliai”. The team with a small, even by Lithuanian standards, budget sat 5th place in the regular season and in the 1/4 finals, lost in the serias 1:2 to “Lietkabelis”, the club, which is familiar to “Prometey” by the EuroCup group round of the 2022/2023 season.

During the off-season, Serbian specialist, Oliver Kostic headed “Juventus”. He is currently together with the National team of his country at the world championship. Therefore, Kostic’s assistant, Vytautas Buzas will lead the team tomorrow.

So far, “Prometey” opponent is in a good play tonus. Several days ago, it become the winner of the pre-season tournament with participation of four Lithuanian teams. In the final, the club from Utena has defeated “Nevezys” with a score of 100:84. 27-year-old Croatian center Ivan Vranes became the most productive “Juventus” player – 18 points.
