Today, on November 18, the Latvia’s National Day is celebrated.

On November 18, 1918, on a solemn meeting at the building that today houses the Latvian National Theatre, the People's Council of Latvia proclaimed the "Act of Independence", which involved the establishment of the Republic of Latvia and approving the Provisional Government of Latvia under the leadership of Karlis Ulmanis. The Freedom Monument in the central square of Riga has become a symbol of Latvia's independence.

Basketball club "Prometey" sincerely congratulates our friend Latvia on the national holiday. It was this country, which in the most difficult time for Ukraine, gave a helping hand to our club and sheltered our athletes, giving them the opportunity to play and glorify Ukraine on the international arena. We are so grateful for such important support for us. We wish Latvia peace and prosperity, and wish people of Latvia - health and well-being!
