Ukrainian basketball club “Prometey” joined the social programme of the Euroleague One Team. 24 thousand people have already been involved in this programme over the years of its existence.
Within this programme, “Prometey” will support those who most needs it now: Ukrainian children, who in the early age, not from the books, were forced to learn what the war is. You will agree that nothing can be worse. Once, the collocation “children of the war” was a horror, what our grannies were telling us. But now, we face it ourselves. Therefore, the club decided to choose this social area.
8-year-old Nastya and 7-year-old Andriy became the first participants of the Euroleague One Team programme from BC "Prometey". At Arena Riga, “Prometey” coach Serhii Alforov held a special training session for the brother and sister.

“We have recently arrived to Riga and still don’t know much here; in particular, we don’t know what activities for children are available here. We got an invitation for a training session on our mail and decided to come.
I was pleasantly surprised, when passing past the Olympic Centre, I saw the bus of “Prometey” with the registration plates of Dnipro region. I got interested, started searching in Google, found out that “Prometey” has high-level players, many foreigners; I started following an Instagram page of the club, their activities.
We have already visited “Prometey” games. I liked it. In addition, the game with “Liepaja” turned out to be intriguing, “Prometey” won et the very end in additional time.
In Kyiv, my children attended the Real Madrid social-sports school. Nastia played basketball last year, Andriy played football. This year, my son also decided to play basketball, but we attended just several training sessions, because of the air alerts trainings constantly were cancelled. I personally like football, but my daughter chose basketball herself. I encouraged my son to play football, but I did not notice any desire, he, together with his sister, started playing basketball.
That is great that “Prometey” holds such trainings for children, especially at such place as Arena Riga. Not everyone has the opportunity of train here. It’s clear, that the coach, Serhii Alforov, is a professional one. And it’s good that children have the opportunity to attend his training sessions”.
The Euroleague programme One Team from BC “Prometey” for Ukrainian children who moved to Latvia will take place twice a month.
