The match between “Paris Basketball” and our “Promnetey” capped the programme of the BKT EuroCup Round 14 in Group A. Any result of today’s confrontation could not change the rivals’ situation in the tournament standings (the leading position for the French club and the sixth line for ours). However, they both had what to fight for considering further tournament prospectives. Unfortunately, Ronen Ginzburg was not able to lead our team and his assistants could not count on Ondrej Balvin who out the game due to his health problems.
Both teams started the game with no hesitation acting effectively in offensives. In the debut of the confrontation, “Prometey” looked stronger than its rival, leading in score 14:6 in 4th minute. At that moment, our team forced the coach of the hosting team Tuomas Iisalo to take a one-minute break. After this break, “Paris” players gradually started finding their pace, however, not enough to take initiative completely. The “titans” deserved to finish the starting quarter in their favour, although their handicap was minimal – 24:22.
In the debut of the second ten-minute segment, "Paris" arranged an 8:0 jerk, after which the guests had to present the opponent additional arguments. "Prometey", like the rivals in the opening quarter, benefited from a one-minute pause. Our team reduced the gap to a minimum, but before the long break, a small slack happened in their game. As a result, the handicap of "Paris" reached a double-digit mark - 49:39.
After the fifteen-minute rest, the French “machine” started working in full. Already within first three minutes of the quarter N3, the advantage of the Parisian team was doubled. By and large, the very third quarter decided the result of the confrontation in favour “Paris”, who once again proved its right to be undeniable leader of our group.
The French club gathered their thirteen win in the EuroCup. “Prometey” has 50% win balance – 7-7.
