“Prometey” played its another match of the Latvian-Estonian league against its main competitor “Kalev/Cramo”. The reigning Estonian champion has started the tournament with eight straight wins, which allowed them to overtake our team as well. Today’s possible success of the “titans” would allow them to catch up with the rival in wins/losses balance.
Our team brilliantly coped with this challenging task! Already in a debut of the clash, the team, extremely motivated and determined today, stunned the visiting team with a mighty run 15:0. Almost half of all points scored by the “titans” were earned by their captain Illia Sydorov. Ronen Ginzburg’s squad did not slow down during the next 6 minutes of the quarter and added 20 more points not allowing “Kalev” to gain even 10 ones. The issue about the winner of the entire first tour central confrontation was decided in this very ten-minute segment.
The second ten-minute segment went on an equal footing. “Kalev/Cramo” even won it by one possession. However, it was the quarter, where handicap of “Prometey” reached the mark of “30+” for the first time.
To the credit of the “titans”, they did not allow any sag in the second half of the match. The entire game was going on with complete dominating of Ronen Ginzburg’s team. The final result is more than confident win of the Ukrainian club with a score of 103:72.
Its next match, “Prometey” will play in the BKT EuroCup. On November 29, the “titans” will clash in Spanish Badalona with the local “Joventut”.
