The duel with the Estonian club "Tartu Ulikool Max & Moorits" was the ninth for "Prometey" in October. At the same time, in the last two weeks, on the eve of the next test in the 7DAYS EuroCup, Ronen Ginzburg's team faced a worthy opposition from the LEBL rivals. In this regard, we imagined the today's confrontation between the "red and whites" and the club from Tartu to be about the same.
However, today's reality turned out to be absolutely different. "Prometey" did not have any problems with the opponent. The tone of the entire match was set by the starting jerk (9:0) by the best club of Ukraine, which was recorded in three and a half minutes. Ondrej Balvin started it with two mid-range shots, and DJ Stephens finished it with an accurate three-pointer. During the first 8 minutes, our team allowed to score only the Ukrainian bigman Andrii Voynalovych (10 points in this game segment). When Andrii was joined by his partners, the gap for Tartu was reduced to 6 points, however, the teams went to the first break with a comfortable for “Prometey” “+12” thanks to shots from the perimeter by Issuf Sanon and Viacheslav Petrov.
The second 10-minute segment erased all questions about the winner of this confrontation. “Prometey” successfully continued to hit opponent’s hoop from the arc (9 accurate shots out of 20 in the first 20 minutes) surpassing the Estonian club in all regards in the teamwork. Some middle-match statistics was impressive: 14 effective assists against 4, and only 1 loss against 13.
Following the results of the first half of the game the advantage of Ronen Ginzburg’s guys were almost three dozen points – 53:28. Only after the long break, Nikolays Mazurs' team managed to put up more or less worthy resistance and even play a draw with our team in the last ten minutes of the match, but it was hardly appropriate to demand some kind of show from the "red and whites" in this part of the game. Probably, all thoughts of our guys were somewhere in Badalona, where on Wednesday, November 2, a very important confrontation of the group round of the 7DAYS EuroCup with the local club”Joventut Badalona” will take place
