Davon Reed, who joined “Prometey” in summer, spent the last season in two NBA teams – “Denver”, which eventually became the champion, and “Lakers”. The player shared his impressions of playing for these teams.
-You started the last season in “Denver”. Did you spoke to anyone from “Nuggets” after the championship ended? Do you know if they are going to send you a championship ring, as you were a part of the winning team?
-Yeah, as soon as they won finals, we talked on FaceTime with Bruce Brown, Jamal Murray, DeAndre Jordan and Jeff Green. Everybody was happy, celebrating and they were calling me on FaceTime while they were celebrating in the locker-room. It was so great to see them and celebrate with them. And yes, they asked me for my ring size. De Andre Jordan even asked, if I had left the team, could I get the ring. I told him to hold the ring until I get another two available.
- What is so special about Nikola Jokic? Why has he been dominating in the NBA for already several years?
-Nikola has been dominating for at least three or four years in the NBA. He became the champion this year. He is back-to-back MVP of the two seasons before that. It is just amazing to see how he plays. He plays on his own speed, he wisely read the game, and he sees what will happen, sees before it actually happen. Just to see his approach to work every day. To watch him practicing, working out, on retreatment after games and loads, to watch him follow regime no matter what and then to see him play nighty minutes every night. It is just very impressive, he goes out on the floor and just plays the game. It was amazing to watch him on the floor.
-You finished the last season with “Lakers”, with other legends. What is it like to play in the same team with LeBron? Is there really a special atmosphere with him on the court and in the locker-room?
-To start with, LeBron is my favourite player. Just to see him and, actually, be his teammate in an unreal moment. And again, just to see his attitude and approach to work – when he comes first, just working out constantly to get better. In each and every game he will to win. He is so physically gifted and, within 20 years, he is amazingly motivated! That is unbelievable thing to see it on my own. So, I am very glad that I could be in the presence of two players of MVP-level – LeBron James and Nikola Jokic - during one season.
