Forward of BC “Prometey” DJ Stephens, according to the results of the 2022/2023 season, entered the first symbolic EuroCup team and afterwards spoke with the club press-service.
- DJ, our congratulations on the 7DAYS EuroCup nomination. Are you pleased that experts and fans voted for you?
- I am grateful to them that I was chosen to the first EuroCup team. We had a great year as a team and I could not accomplish this without my teammates help. So, I just want to thank them as well as everyone who voted for me.
- DJ, if to talk about the results of the season – the victory in the Latvian-Estonian basketball league and EuroCup semi-final – how happy you are with this result?
- It’s still hard to talk about this as we have recently lost the semi-final match. And I am still very upset as I have a feeling that I have played not at the 100% of my abilities. As a fighter, as a professional, as a veteran of the team, there is always a wish to play my best, to demonstrate the best performance. Especially when it’s a big match, of a crucial importance. So, I am kind of disappointed with my performance in the semi-final. However, we reached a lot this season. I mean our win on the Latvian-Estonian league, reaching the semi-final of the EuroCup where we made our debut this season. And in the very first season, we managed to get so far and had a real chance to get even further. I am proud of my team, how we copped all difficulties all season long. Despite injuries of the key players, we reached such results. We made a really great job this season as a team.
