In the current off-season, "Prometey" has saved almost all players with Ukrainian passports. Only Maksym Lutsenko left the team and the formed vacancy (not for the position on the court) in the Ukrainian part of the roster was filled by the central BC "Zaporizhzhya", the silver medalist of the last championship Dmytro Tikhonov. Dmitry, first of all together with Vyacheslav Petrov and Sean Evans, is called to ensure the dominance of "Prometey" over their  rivals under the backboards in the new season - something that the team did well in the playoffs of the 2020/2021 season. The fifth Ukrainian rebounder of the last championship gave his first interview as a Prometey’s player to the club's press service.

- Dmitry, we are glad to welcome you as a player of "Prometey"! Last summer you changed the outsider of the Super League Kharkiv Falcons to the middle-ranged Zaporizhzhya, and this year - the silver medalist of the championship to its winner. Can we  say that for the last two years you have been constantly rising?

- Yes, it is quite possible to say so. Indeed, the last two seasons have progressed and first of all I would like to thank Valery Plekhanov for that. A year ago he gave me a chance, he believed in me, I managed to open up and now I found myself in "Prometey", which is why I am incredibly happy.

- Under the leadership of Valery Plekhanov, you became a Super League winner twice. Can you call him "your" coach?

- In a certain way. Valery Plekhanov opened a good way to basketball for me.

- Would be interesting to know your view on the final series of the last championship, where your previous and current clubs met.

- For sure, we wanted the final to be not so easy for “Prometey”. Unfortunately, my "Zaporizhzhya" had a little rotation, all forces were given in the previous series with "Kyiv-Basket", many guys had micro-injuries. For example, I missed the fourth semifinal home game with "Kyiv-Basket" when we hosted the opponent in Kamyansky. By the final we were exhausted.

- In the fifth semifinal game with Kyiv-Basket, you had the highest efficiency rating among the players of both teams. Did this match become one of the best in the season for you?

- I think it was really so.

- Now you have joined "Prometey". How is the adaptation in the new team? The basketball world is quite narrow, probably before joining the team you knew most of its Ukrainian members?

- In various teams, including youth teams, I played with all the guys, except for the captain of "Prometey" Denis Lukashov and the legionnaires of my new team. All the guys have nice personality, so I'm glad to be a part of this team.

- Is there any excitment from the future work with the authoritative European specialist Ronen Ginzburg?

- The fact that Prometey is led by Ronen was one of the main factors in making the decision to join the team. It was very important for me that Prometey would play in the Champions League under the guidance of a foreign specialist. At the beginning of my career I worked with many foreigners, then I mostly crossed paths with Ukrainian specialists and now I want to work with a foreigner again.

- While Ronen is temporarily replaced by Milenko Bogichevich. Has he already talked in general terms about what the coaching staff wants to see from you this season?

- I think it's not a right time for such conversations. We just passed a short training camp in Zaporozhye. There we mostly worked on ourr physical condition and only now we began to incorporate elements of basketball into our training work.

- Are the first days and weeks of preparation for the season the hardest?

- I think so, because the foundation of physical fitness for the whole season is being laid - there is no way without it! You have to be patient, it will be easier a bit later.

- In general, what are your expectations from the upcoming season?

- I am very happy because I will play not only in our Super League, but also in the European Cups. I can wish my team only the best!
