On September 2, "Prometey" opens the program of control matches of the summer-autumn preparatory period for the upcoming season with a match against BC "Latvian University" (LU). We can say that the game with "Latvian University" ends the first week of the Latvian stage of our team's preparation. It started in Riga on August 23 and now, in the absence of the head coach of the "red and whites" Ronen Ginzburg, it’s going on under the guidance of the first assistant to head coach of "Prometey" Mantas Schernius.
Ronen Ginzburg with his National team of the Czech Republic are preparing for the start at EuroBasket 2022, where 5 “Prometey” players, as part of Ukrainian National team, will take part. The honor of the National team of Ukraine will be defended by Denys Lukashov, Illia Sydorov, Isuf Sanon and Ivan Tkachenko. Ondzhiy Balvin will play at the Euro under the leadership of Ronen Ginzburg as part of the Czech National team. Gian Clavel is currently with the National team of Puerto Rico.
It is clear that all these basketball players will not be able to take part in the match against "Latvian University". LU is a young club founded in 2011.
