For the first time in the two-year history of the confrontation between "Prometey" and "Dnipro" on the eve of their match was an obvious favorite. Our team, that from game to game is constantly increasing its winning streak, played this role. However, of course, this unofficial status of "red and whites" still had to be proved on the court.
Ronen Ginzburg's team just brilliantly coped with this task! They allowed the opponent to lead only the first three minutes, and then, after Sean Evans put his team ahead, they no longer lost the lead. It was victory of "Prometey" in all respects. Some figures of the final protocol look simply unique: 91 shots of our team per match, 25 rebounds in attack, 51 points of the starting five and other performers who appeared on the field today. At the same time, if we consider the first aspect, the dynamics of the precedence of "Prometey" over "Dnipro" grew like a snowball: 22 throws by our team against 14 at the end of the first quarter; 49 against 29 – for 20 minutes of play; 91 against 59 – the final figures.
By and large, there was only one moment in the match when its result was called into question. At the beginning of the third quarter, "Dnipro" managed a jerk 12: 2. At that moment, the alley-up with the participation of DJ Cooper and Vyacheslav Kravtsov worked twice, Anatoliy Shundel and Issuf Sanon hit from afar. In this difficult for "Prometey" moment, when the handicap of the team from "+18" fell to "+8", Denis Lukashov and Illia Sydorov proved to be excellent. Denis's long throw and Illia's performance restored the team's confidence and they took a second wind. In the final quarter there was already a complete dominance of "Prometey", as eloquently evidenced by the score of ten minutes - 27:5.
In basketball, there is not always a situation when even in the case of devastating victories, you can single out the whole team, but today was exactly that case. Illia Sydorov and Denis Lukashov played well at the most necessary moment; Miro Bilan made a double-double (15 points and 14 rebounds), and DJ Kennedy and Sean Evans did not have enough for this; D'Angelo Harrison's assets included 6 (!) steals, Viacheslav Petrov's 80 (!) percent of shots from the game, and Oleksander Mishula's three accurate long-range shots reminded about of his sniper skills.
Having achieved such a victory in all respects, which became the 14th in the championship, "Prometey" for a while takes a break in all tournaments, related to the qualification games of the national team of Ukraine to get into the European Championship.
