With today’s match with Rakvere Trvas”, “Prometey” opened the second mini-series of two road matches in the LEBL. Our team’s rival is a clear league outsider at the moment; therefore, “red and white” should have treated them without any underestimation, exactly like it was in the previous games in Rapla and Keila.
From first seconds, guests demonstrated their good temper. They managed two quick break away, which were finished by DJ Kennedy and Issuf Sanon. Denys Lukasho supported his partners with a three-point shot, which allowed “Prometey” to arrange starting spurt 7:2. To the honour of the hosts, they managed to give a decent answer, when at the end of the 6th minute, after Kaldmae’s hit from the perimeter, they took a lead 17:16. Yet before the first break, Razdevsek and Lindmets also hit from the arc, which allowed “Tarvas” to lead by 4 points (23:19). However, the teams went for the first break with exactly the same handicap but in favour of “Prometey”. The hits from the perimeter by Gian Clavell and Ivan Tkachenko were in the basis of “red and white” spurt.
In first 135 seconds of the second quarter, Ukrainian club manage to arrange even a larger spurt of 10:0. However, this successful segment was replaced by a poor one: at the start of the 17th minute, “-14” for “Tarvas” turned into “-3”. At this moment, Ronen Ginzburg took a time-out and this minute of rest became useful for his squad. They regained their advantage of “+10” after a spectacular hit from the arc by DJ Stephens.
The third quarter became a decisive one. It passed with a complete dominance of ”Prometey”. Already in 24th minute, our team was in lead by 21 point (66:45), after which the question about the winner of this game were actually removed.
“Red and white” confidently kept the course of the confrontation under control and won with the score of 95:66. Their next game, Ronen Ginzburg’s team will hold on January 6. Their rival is Estonian club “Taltech/OPTIBET”.
