On Monday, July 4, eight matches of the 2023 World Cup qualification tournament among European national teams took place. According to their results, the full composition of 24 participants of the second stage of the selection was formed. They were divided into 4 groups.

The National team of Ukraine is in group L with the teams of Spain, Georgia, Italy, Iceland and the Netherlands.

In the second round, each team will play two matches against three teams from the other group of the first round. Thus, the Ukrainian team will have to play against the National teams of Italy, Iceland and the Netherlands. At the first stage, Italians and Icelanders had 3 wins each (according to the results of head-to-head matches, the Italian team was higher up in the tournament table); the National team of the Netherlands lost all matches.

The top three teams from each group will qualify for the 2023 World Cup.
