BC Hapoel Jerusalem (Israel) - BC Prometey (Ukraine). January 27. 21:00. Champions League. Play-in round. 3rd match. Jerusalem. Pais Arena. Broadcast - prometeybc.com, Dmart TV, Youtube.com/FIBA
The Champions League play-in pair between Hapoel Jerusalem and Prometheus is the fifth one out of eight in this round in which the participant of the second group tournament will be determined in the third match. This became known after yesterday's second confrontation between the teams in Zaporizhzhia. It was destined to enter the history of domestic basketball as one of the hottest European Cups with the participation of the representative of Ukraine with a winning result!
At the end of the game, the lucky author of the winning three-point shot for "Prometey" Chris Dowe said without hesitation that this was his main hit in his career! Interesting fact: this was Chris's first successful attack of the match from the perimeter after three misses before. Almost every fourth shot was accurate - 10 out of 39. Of course, this percentage can not be called acceptable, but more importantly, the wards of Ronen Ginzburg neutralized long-range attacks: only 9 successful out of 26. 27-year-old defender of Hapoel "Adam Ariel did not score a single point (!) after 24 points at home. Milenko Bogicevic, Ronen Ginzburg's assistent, called the successful fight on the backboards an important factor in Prometey's victory. If we approach this point purely formally, "Prometey" conceded in the number of rebounds - 39 against 47, but they did it better on the opponent’s backboards - 12 against 8. Part of these rebounds were the key ones as were performed at the end of the regular time and in overtime. Well, Israeli head coach Yotam Halperin has noted the fact that Hapoel has suffered far more losses than the Red and Whites (22 vs. 9).
In his post-match commentary, Chris Dowe also pointed out that the team's quality of play was far from desirable. However, the post-match statistics showed the superiority of "Prometey" in several components. And this can not help but cause optimism on the eve of the decisive battle between the teams. If Prometey can make even better use of its internal reserves, its chances of much-needed victory will increase many times over!
We wish this to our team and keep our fists up for it! The course of the third match between Hapoel and Prometey in the Champions League play-in stage can be followed on January 27 starting at 21:00 on our club website, FIBA YouTube channels and Dmart TV.
