Ukrainian National team continues preparation for the Olympic pre-qualification matches that will be played in August in Istanbul.
The day before, our National team played the first control match within preparation for the official matches, in which it opposed to Lithuanian team (72:100).
Two “Prometey” players, Issuf Sanon and Oleksandr Lypovyy, did not participate in this game. And from now on, as the Basketball Federation of Ukraine informs, Ukrainian National team will get rprepared without them.
The head coach of Ukrainian National team Vitalii Stepanovskyi has commented on the situation:
"Lypovyy practiced with us for a day and a half - evening training on the 15th and two trainings on July 16. Yet before the start of the training camp, he underwent a medical examination and, unfortunately, he got not very good results of it. So, the doctors forbade him to be exposed to heavy loads. Therefore, he was prescribed a course of treatment; he is recovering and preparing for the season.
Sanon called me 10 days before the start of the training camp and told me that he was injured during individual work. We did everything for Issuf’s recovery. He worked in an individual regime. He has been working with a fitness trainer, trying to take part in team practicing but unfortunately his injury is bothering him and we made a decision for him to prepare for the season. He cannot work at 100%."
