The coaching staff of the women's team "Prometey" continues to develop one of the vectors of staffing - the invitation experienced domestic basketball players from abroad. Olga Dubrovina, Oksana Mollova, Tetiana Yurkevichus - all of them proved themselves after returning to the national championship, becoming a real decoration of the Superleague. And now, after eight years of playing abroad, forward Kateryna Rymarenko has returned home, and mentors of our team also place great hopes on her. Kateryna's contract with our club has already come into force and she, as a player of our club answered the questions of the club's press service. 

- Katya, your transfer to the state of "Prometey" happened not in the period when teams are being recruited, but in the middle of the season. Please tell us the details of the transfer: when did you receive the offer, how long did you think about it, what influenced your choice?

- I am very glad to be in "Prometey"! I have played in Poland for six years, including last season. Probably a little tired of basketball and thought I would finish my performances. However, six months have passed, old injuries have healed, fatigue has disappeared, but the desire to play remained. I accidentally met the coaches of "Prometey" and after this meeting everything turned upside down, there was a desire to continue my career. Thanks to the coaching staff of the team and the president of the club, it came true! I am very grateful to them for that!

-  So, is that possible to say you experienced a certain reboot?

- Indeed, we can say so. Now I have a new beginning, a new team, an old-new country, because I have not lived here for eight years. I turned back over here with new goals, plans and desires. Of course, I want to win the gold medals of the championship with "Prometey"!

- What are your first impressions of the new team?

- The first week in a new team is always very difficult. I know almost all the girls in person, except for foreigners. Now there is a process of acquaintance and infusion into the team, into the game process. This is always an exciting moment! Let's see, time will tell how it all happens. There are old friends here, new ones appear, I think everything will be fine!

- You have the experience of working with Victoria Bolshakova yet in Kirovohrad at that time. Based on this, you must be prepared for her requirements.

- I would not take Kirovograd as a starting point for my acquaintance with Victoria Yurievna and Kyrylo Vadymovich. This happened much earlier. I am ready for their training process. In general, I would like to say that everything here is at the highest level, definitely not worse than in Poland! I was welcomed, immediately given accommodation, very good organization.

- Have you already had a conversation with the mentors about your role in the team, about their expectations?

- Yes, we have already met, talked, outlined everything, but it is a basketball secret so far(smiles).

- Have you been able to watch many Prometey matches recently?

- Of course, I watched all the team's matches in the EuroCups, the last games with Kyiv-Basket, and I was personally present at home matches against Dynamo-NPU.

- How would you assess the matches with Kyiv-Basket not from Prometey site, but from the point of view of team rivalry?

- It is nice that strong foreigners appear in the teams. It is always interesting to play with strong opponents. The interest of the fans is also increasing, because when one team wins "+50", it is good for them, but it is not very interesting for the fans. Of course, it was not easy for our girls in Kyiv, because they are now constantly playing in European Cups, but this is basketball, many people play in such a schedule.

- Is it possible to compare our Superleague to the Polish championship?

- Let me play here for three or four months first, and then ask me this question (smiles). I am not going to say anything so far. I love Poland very much, I liked playing there, I have very good memories from this part of my career, but it is too early to compare the championships.

- We will definitely ask later, but for now, we just wish you success in "Prometey"!
