Staffing of the teams that will participate in the BKT EuroCup next season is going on. For one of the favourites of the group where our “Prometey” will play, Spanish “Joventut”, previous week was dedicated to signing new contracts with a group of players, who are well known to our fans. These are guards Pau Ribas, Andres Feliz, Guillem Vives, Yannick Kraag, Pep Busquets; forward Vladimir Brodziansky; center Ante Tomic. They were joined by a complete rookie Andrew Andrews. American guard started last season in Greek “Panathinaikos”, having played 4 matches for it in the Euroleague, but finished in Turkish “Frutti Extra Bursaspor” (13.4 points and 2.3 assists in 10 matches of Turkish championship).
EuroCup newbie “Wolves Vilnius” also was busy with preserving a backbone of the team. In the new season, a big group of local players will continue playing for the team (Adas Juskevicius, Kristupas Zemaitis, Arnas Berucka, Regimantas Minotas, Vitalijus Kozys, Eigirdas Zukauskas) and also an American forward Jeffery Taylor.
Jaka Blazic, ex-captain of Slovenian “Cedevita-Olimpija” (played for the club in 2011-2013 and 2019-2022) is back to the team. Last season, 33-year-old player defended colours of Turkish “Basaksehir”.
Two signings each was made by Italian “Reyer Venice” (forward Giga Janelidze and guard Rayjon Tucker (39 matches in the NBA)) and French “Paris” (20-year-old forward Enzo Shahrvin and guard Nadir Hifi from French “Pau-Orthez” and “Le Portel” respectively)
Another rookie of Germany “Hamburg Towers” is a guard Aljami Durham (17.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists in the last Great Britain championship). “London Lions” strengthened with a center Gabe Olaseni (210 cm height), who has British passport. Four recent years, Olaseni has played in Turkish championship, scoring 12.7 points and making 7.4 rebounds per match in the last season for local “Darussafaka”.
