In three Asian countries, Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines, the basketball World Cup is going on. Following the results of the two group stages, the list of the 8 best teams, which, in playoffs, will fight for the main title of the tournament, is formed.

The main sensation of the World Cup is the performance of Latvian National team in it. Latvian team has already attained 4 wins in 5 matches and its success in confrontation against Brazil (104:84) led it to the tournament quarterfinal. At this stage, on September 6, Latvian team will play against the National team of Germany.
