Dustin Hogue is leaving “Prometey”. This was announced by the president of the club Volodymyr Dubynskyi:
“Yesterday, already late in the evening we had a long talk with the coach Neno. Mostly about the team’s plans, about preparation for the regular EuroCup championship second round, about the team’s line-up and whether it needs any strengthen this season. We were thinking about the 2023/2024 season.
So, after a long conversation, we made a decision by mutual consent that Dustin Hogue will leave the team and play for one of the EuroCup clubs in the group, where “Prometey” does not play. That is Neno’s decision and we support it.
I believe, and Neno agreed with me, that Hogue’s leaving is an excellent chance for Slava Petrov to prove himself. He is quite an interesting player and in every game, I expect brighter, more emotional basketball from him, fight that is more potent.
Slava, please, throw off your fatigue and go ahead into the game, into the fight for the “Prometey” victory! We believe in you.
I also have personal expectations from Issuf Sanon’s play. I am sure, he will demonstrate basketball that will astonish us! I am waiting for extravaganza from you, Issuf. You definitely have not said your main and loud word in a game.
I am grateful to our captain Denys Lukashov and Oleksandr Lypovyy. From my point of view, they demonstrated that sort of basketball that we expected from them and will add brightness in the further part of the season.
From the bottom of my heart I wish recovery to Illia Sydorov and hope this injury streak is over. Illia, we need you a lot on the court. I understand that rehabilitation issue is still topical, but competition in the team is increasing and everyone has to fight for own place in the team. I believe in you, you know this. It’s time to prove that last season was not an occasional personal success. Believe in you!
We spoke with the coach about Ivan Tkachenko as well. An ncredibly talented, moving, daring player. He needs a little more experience. I am sure, if he gets more playing time, Ivan will fly up and will play for 100%.
We are awaiting a very interesting second half of the championship, nine games of the EuroCup and then, I believe, we will see bright competing of “Prometey” in the play-off.
The final in the Latvian-Estonian league won’t be less interesting. We will fight to win tournament.
Objectively, it will be the most interesting, fierce confrontations and vivid victories!
So, the conversation was long, but we touched on all the team players, discussed the possibilities and expectations from each of them. We keep searching of the optimal composition.
In two weeks, we will have another conversation, another glance, another discussion about the team plans and opportunities.
Of course, we spoke about legionaries, their potential and capacity, but about all these in the nearest post.
Only “Prometey”, only victory!
Glory to Ukraine!”
