The men's National team of Ukraine starts in the second stage of selection for the 2023 World Cup. Ainars Bagatskis' team starts the stage with a home match in Riga against one of the hosts of the future EuroBasket 2022 - the Italian National team. The game will take place at Independence Day of Ukraine – on August 24. The match starts at 19:00. The official website of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine reports.

Since the game will take place a week before the start of the European Championship, both national teams will play with their optimal line-ups. In particular, for the first time since 2018, both our representatives in the NBA, Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk and Oleksiy Len, will wear the uniform of the Ukrainian National team. The star duo Danilo Gallinari and Niccolò Melli will play in the Italian National team for the first time after their performance at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in the summer of 2021.

Let us remind that the second stage of selection for the 2023 World Cup Ukraine will start with one victory in four matches in the assets. After the match against Italy on August 27, Einars Bagatskis' team will go to an away game against Iceland.
