Prometey will finish its third game week with a home match within Latvian-Estonian basketball league. The opponent of the “titans” is Estonian club AVIS UTILITAS Rapla from the town of Rapla with about 5000 population.

Rapla is rather young club with 18-year history. During this time, the team has managed to gain a pretty solid authority in their own country. In the 2016/2017 season, Rapla won silver medals of the Estonian championship. The next Prometey’s opponent is the four-time bronze medallist; in the 2012/2013 season the team was the finalist of the Cup of Estonia. As for Rapla’s performance in the LEBL, its highest achievement is entering the Final Four in the 2020/2021 season. That time, the team came fourth in the tournament, falling in the match for the third place by jyst 2 points to Ogre, Latvia (73:75).

This season, after three games, Rapla has 1-2 win/loss balance. Alike the previous Prometey’s rival, Turkish Besiktas, Estonian club does not score a lot, but at the same time, does not miss a lot. Ukrainian player Volodymyr Shevchenko is with good reputation in the club. Already in his first match against Tallinn, Volodymyr was about to make double-double (18 points and 9 rebounds). In each his game, our fellow citizen gains “10+” points and averages 7.67 rebounds.

Overall, certainly, Prometey is the favourite, moreover the obvious one, of tomorrow’s match. Upcoming confrontation may become a great opportunity for our team to rehabilitate itself in the fans’ eyes after the sensitive defeat in Turkey.

You will be able to follow the flow of events in the match Prometey – Rapla on October 14 watching the live broadcast on YouTube channel “DIVISPORT” starting at 18:30.
