After the first round of the 7DAYS EroCup finished, the second-ranked basketball tournament in Europe took a break for three weeks. Thus, during last days of 2022 and first days of 2023, “Prometey” will be completely focused on matches of the Latvian-Estonian league Pafbet.

Already tomorrow, on December 23, on the court of Olympic centre Rimi our team will play against Estonian club “KK Viimsi” from the city of the same name with a population of slightly more than 20 thousand residents.

The nearest opponent of “Prometey” has just been playing in the elite league of its country KML and LEBL since the last season. In both leagues, they were not just extras. In the regular season of Estonian championship, “Viimsi” sat in 3rd place, and then, in the quarterfinal series of the play-off, lost t “Tartu Ulikool” with the score 1:3. At the last year’s LEBL tournament, Estonian club reached the final. However, there was not any fight there, “Viimsi” was inferior to VEF from Riga in all terms – 65:94.

At the moment, the team of the local specialist Valdo Lips has a good reputation in the LEBL sitting in 5th place with a percentage of wins 66.7. “Prometey” will host a very interesting team. At the same time, "Viimsi" don’t have any experience of a high-class EuroCup matches and is just at the stage of own formation. However, there are no doubts that “Prometey” is a good stimulus for “Viimsi”. The chances of the teams can be equalised by the fact that “red and white” will come out on the court just in a day after the extremely difficult match in Italy.
