The opponent of “Prometey” represents the Latvian town of Ogre, which is located on the right bank of Daugava River where Ogre River falls into it, 35 kilometres southeast of Riga.  Professional basketball club as it is has existed since 2014. “Ogre” has a considerable authority in the LEBL. The team has participated in the Final four three times. In the 2020/2021 season, it became the bronze LEBL medallist; another two times it gave in to the opponents in the match for third place.

This year, “Ogre” has 4 wins and 4 losses and is sitting in 9th place in the tournament standings. In the “Ogre’s” line-up, there are two American legionnaires – Nigel Armoni Johnson and Anrew Deshawn Corum, Lithuanian center Matas Jucikas and 19-year-old Ukrainian forward Volodymyr Poluiakhtov, by the way, a son of the first coach of our Andrii Voinalovych  – Lesia Poluiakhtova. However, the main leader of the team is the local player, 33-year-old power forward Kristaps Dargais. Kristaps was the league MVPin the 2021/2022 regular season. This season, he is the team’s leader in rebounds (7.63 per match) and assists (5.38 per match – the fifth position in the league).

Of course, “Prometey” is the definite favourite of tomorrow’s confrontation. However, along with reaching the maximum possible result tomorrow, the “titans” will solve the task of the maximum readiness for very important and crucial confrontation with “Wolves Vilnius” within the BKT EuroCup.
