On the eve of the match against Cedevita Olimpija, the player of Prometey Oleksandr Lypovyy told the club press service about the team’s spirit before the clash and pointed out the game aspect to be the most concentrated on.
He also shared his memories about the EuroBasket-2013 held in Slovenia where the National team of Ukraine, with Lypovyy in its roster, sat in 6th place.
- 4/6 three-pointers and overall mighty game in the previous LEBL match against Liepaja. What are your impressions, ready to carry on like this in the next game as well?
- Sure, after we lost to London Lions, we had to find our pace and partners helped me to do that in the game against Liepaja. Now, we must concentrate on the game against Cedevita. We did not play well in defence and missed about 100 points. So,we have to focus exactly on defence.
- We have two straight losses; Cedevita has three ones in a row. Both teams will strive to bounce back. Will this make the game a tense one?
- We have to find our pace, especially in defence. We have some roster issues, Davon Reed and Issuf Sanon are not playing. However, we mast complement each other in defence and win on the road. This game is of a great importance for us.
- How much did you lack Reed and Sanon in the previous games?
- We do lack them, as Reed is considered one of the best team’s guards. Sanon is quite active in offensive actions. We are waiting for them both and wish them health and to be back on the floor as soon as possible.
- How exciting it is to come to Ljubljana again, to the hall where you have a lot of pleasant memories. Where you had the most successful Eurobasket in history and for the firs and, so far, the last time entered the World Cup. What are your feelings?
- It was 10 years ago. But you remember this arena, the atmosphere and emotions we had in 2013. Of course, it is enjoyable. I played at least five times here after that. Hope, after the game in Ljubljana, I will have the same emotions as in 2013.
