On December 15, “Prometey” youth is starting in the European youth basketball league (EYBL). During three days of the tour in Riga, guys will play five matches against teams from Latvia, Estonia, Great Britain and Ireland.

On the eve of the competitions, the press service of BC “Prometey” conversed with the coach Oleksandr Pashchenko, who works with young basketball players.

-Coach, how have you been preparing for games? Where have you been practising? Did you manage to conduct full-fledged training sessions? How did you keep fit?

-We have already been ready for games since October, since the first tour, which we did not go to. Therefore, all guys are very happy that we finally will participate in the competitions. As we did not have any other games but confrontations with amateurs.

-What is the condition of your players?

-All of them are ready and eager to play. We had full-fledged training process but we lack game practice.

-What can you say about the competitions, in which you are starting now? What are your expectations of the EYBL tournament?

-As for today, we need this trip; we need to play several games.

-In this tour, you have the opponents from the different countries; some of them are quite exotic for European basketball because we rather rare cross paths with teams from Great Britain or Ireland. What do you know about the rivals?

-We know not much about the rivals, but it will add interest to test ourselves in the stressful situation.

-What goals are you setting for this tournament?

-The main goal is to practise our game interactions, to feel the game rhythm and, of course, to win in any game.
