After the match BC “Zaporizhzhia” – BC “Prometey” ended, the head coach of our team Oleksandr Pashchenko gave an express interview to “Prometey” press-service.
- Oleksandr Serhiyovych, what did you want to see today in the actions of your squad in the first control match? How satisfied are you with what you saw?
- In each game, I would like to see a fight for the neutral ball and on the backboard, aggression in defence. A lot of things didn't work for us in offensive actions, but that's okay as we are just getting into the season. We need to hone over and over quite a few points. I would like to see more in defence. It has to be improved, the same with fighting under the backboards.
Today we scored 85 points and missed 65. It seems good, but we have to consider that the opponent is physically less prepared at this stage than we are. This is an objective point. As well as the fact that we still have a lot of work ahead.
- Still, our team defeated the Superleague representative. Will this victory add some confidence for the future?
-There is no need to talk about any confidence. This is only the first game, and at that, a preparatory one. But if to take into account the fact that the guys played not much last season, they still need to increase their confidence.
- Today, three players did not appear on the court, although they arrived in Zaporizhzhia. What is the reason?
- Sturov and Trykolenko are still "raw" young players. They are not ready to oppose such powerful basketball players as the opponent. Mykyta Bezyma is currently recovering after a knee injury.
