On the eve of the third match of “Prometey” in the 7DAYS EuroCup, The club press-service conversed with the team center Ondrej Balvin about the upcoming confrontation, and also, about the productive play of Ondrej against “Parnu Sadam”.
-In the previous game against “Parnu”, you made twenty rebounds. I know that the biggest number of rebounds you made in one game in the EuroCup was 19 and in ACB – 17. However, I am sure that 20 rebounds is not the high in your career. Am I right?
-Oh, it’s a tough question. I think, yeah…that’s my career high, but I am not sure. I think, in the EuroCup I had more. I had more than 19, it was like 21 or something like that, but I am not sure.
-What about twelve offensive rebounds?
-Twelve offensive rebounds? I have no idea, honestly. I was long time ago. I don’t remember.
-On Wednesday, you will play the next EuroCup game. What can you say about “Bursaspor”?
-I think they are one of the favourites of this competition. Their play very good, they play a very organised basketball. Last year, they kind of surprised everyone when they made it to the finals. But, honestly, “Bursa” in all games they won, they deserved it. I think that this year it even puts a little bit pressure on them because they did not make it in the finals. But they are favourites of the competition together with “Joventut”, so I am expecting a tough game and basketball of a high level.
-In all games of the season (in the Turkish league and in the EuroCup) “Bursaspor” had more rebounds than their opponents did. Is playing against the big guys from “Bursaspor” a great challenge for you?
-It’s not Just to play against somebody, it’s always a challenge to play against each other team’s big guys. But I always remember that our coach says that rebounds are one of the most important things that can lead into victory, so this is a job that we need to do as a team. We watched them in the video, to know more about what they do in defense, to know what we should do. So, we got focused on our stuff, just to be ready for 100%.
