The agreement with the twelfth player of our team was signed today. So, the team is completed for the 2022/2023 season. The line-up included six well-known players from past seasons and six newcomers. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the BC "Prometey" roster more detailed:
Denys Lukashov
The captain of our team, who has been with Prometey since 2019. During his career, he played in four of the top Ukrainian clubs: BC Kyiv, Budivelnyk, Azovmash and BC Donetsk. Two-time champion of Ukraine - as part of "Budivelnyk" (2011) and "Prometey" (2021). He played with the Ukrainian National team at three EuroBaskets (2011, 2015 and 2017).
Illia Sydorov
As well as Lukashov, Illia has been with Prometey since 2019. Four-time champion of Ukraine: three times with "Khimik" and in 2021 with "Prometey". FIBA European Cup quarterfinalist (2016) and silver medallist of the Universiade (2019).
Issuf Sanon
One of the most talented and promising Ukrainian basketball players of his generation. He was selected in the NBA draft in the second round with the 44th pick by the Washington Wizards, who he played for in the NBA Summer League. Champion of Slovenia (2018) as part of Olympia, champion of Ukraine (2020) with Dnipro.
Gian Clavell
He was the top scorer of the Superleague last season as part of Budivelnyk. Gian has an experience playing in the NBA, he also played in the high-level championships of Spain, Turkey, and Greece. He played for the Puerto Rico National team at the World Cup. Champion of the Central American and Caribbean Games (2018).
Caleb Agada
The dynamic defender also tried his hand in the NBA Summer League, where he scored 11.2 points, made 2.4 assists and 2.2 steals as part of the Denver Nuggets team. Champion of the Canadian League (2014). Played in Spain, Israel and Australia. Took part in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Oleksandr Lypovyy
This will be his third season with Prometey. Lypovyy is a two-time champion of Ukraine (2012 as part of Donetsk and 2021 with Prometey). Oleksandr is in second place in terms of the number of matches played as part of the National team of Ukraine, he played at EuroBaskets 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017, as well as at the 2014 World Cup.
David John Kennedy
One of the two Star Legionnaires who returned to Prometey. It was DJ, who, demonstrating a bright game in the Champions League and the ability to make offensive rebounds in the decisive moments of the game, got into the list of contenders for the title of MVP. He tried his hand at the NBA, during his career he played for teams from the leading European championships. Kennedy is the champion of the D-League (2013), the champion of Italy (2019), the player of the year of the German championship (2015), the forward of the year of the FIBA EuroCup (2016), the best sniper of the FIBA Champions League (2018).
Ivan Tkachenko
Ivan played eight seasons in the same club - Cherkaski Mavpy, where he became the champion of the Superleague (2018). He finished the last season in Helsinki Seagulls, where he played in the same team with the local legend Petteri Koponen, who is ending his career in his homeland. This year, Tkachenko made a very successful debut as part of the National team of Ukraine.
DJ Stephens
He is a fan favourite thanks to his incredible dunks. This will be the third season, which Stephens will play for Prometey. Needless to say, DJ has an NBA experience. Not only one of the most spectacular players, but also one of the most titled: the best defensive player of the SEC, NCAA conference (2013), champion of Ukraine (2017 and 2021), champion of France (2018), multiple winner of slam-dunk contests in France.
Viacheslav Petrov
Will spend the third season in the uniform of "Prometey". Petrov is a three-time champion of Ukraine (twice with "Khimik" and last year with "Prometey"). Viacheslav has been playing in European Cups since 2016, and his average RE there is consistently more than 10. In qualification matches for the 2023 World Cup for the Ukrainian National team, this indicator is 11.4.
Dusting Hogue
Played in high-level European championships. In Greece, he was the best in rebounds in the season. BC "Prometey" had a match with Romanian team "Cluj Napoca" in the Champions League last season. Dustin was in a roster of this team then: he spent an average of 23.1 minutes on the court, scored 14 points, made 7.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists (RE 11.5). In addition, he became the champion of the Romanian league with Cluj.
Ondrey Balvin
The tallest player in our team is 217 cm tall. During his career, he played for five Spanish clubs. One of the most notable rebounders of the Spanish ACB league (record - 17 rebounds per game) and EuroCup (best result - 19 rebounds). The mobile and fast seven-footer couldn't help but try to get his chance in the NBA Summer League, where he once participated, like, in fact, other Prometey legionnaires. In 2021, he played for the Czech Republic under Ronen Ginzburg coaching at the Tokyo Olympics, where he averaged 14 points and 6.7 rebounds.
