Already on the following day after the victory over the Latvian “VEF Riga”, “Prometey” held one more duel within the Latvian-Estonian league. This time their rival was the Estonian club “Rakvere Tarvas”. In so doing for the first time in their 4-year history, our team have played the official match with the representative of this Baltic country. Before this confrontation, the teams were on the opposite poles of the LEBL standings. “Prometey”, as well as one more Estonian representative - “Parnu”, remained undefeated; and vice versa, “Rakvere Tarvas” together with two more clubs have not tasted victory yet.
The opponent of Prometey in their first two starting matches suffered knockouts from their compatriots “Kalev Cramo” and “Rapla”, so it was possible to assume that Ronen Ginzburg’s team are much higher in class than “Tarvas”. The confrontation itself demonstrated a huge abyss between today’s opponents. Even in the first quarter, when the Estonians resisted “red and white” as much as they could, the players of our team made throws that could please anyone. Ondrej Balvin did not pay attention to opponents in their paint, Gian Clavell hit from the arc even over the opponents’ hands, and Caleb Agada passed to the hoop due to his individual mastery. As usually, quick attacks and brilliant interaction in combinations ensured success for our team.
Our team won the starting quarter only with the gap of 11 points. “Only” just because the dominance of the Ronen Ginzburg’s team in the following two ten-minute segments was absolute. When Issuf Sanon realised “and-one” in the last minute of the third quarter, the handicap of “Prometey” reached five dozens points (86:36). If our team set a goal either to obtain the biggest victory of the season in LEBL or to make their new record of productiveness, they would definitely do that. However, “+57” and 115 points, the record figures that we saw in a match with “Valmiera”, left unsurpassed. The “red and white” played the final quarter in a semi-training mode, probably, keeping in mind the upcoming confrontation of the EuroCup against the Italian “Brescia”
