“Prometey” got started in the Cup of Ukraine with a match in Slobozhanske against “Niko-Basket” Mykolayiv. The “titans" have already beaten their opponent three times this season, and it was in Slobozhanske. But today it was not so important. In any kind of sport, the Cup has its own laws, and the confrontation between "Prometey" and "Nico-Basket" was an additional confirmation of this fact.

Both teams adjusted for the match very well, and the first quarter turned to be dynamic and meaningful from a game point of view. The opponents acted perfectly in offensives from afar (“Prometey” had 4 successful attempts out of 8 and "Niko-Basket" had 3 out of 7). Back in the first half of the quarter, Oleksandr Pashchenko's squad managed an 8-0 run, which generally determined their success in this ten-minute segment.

In the second quarter, the intrigue in the confrontation brightened a lot. The former player of "Prometey-2-DDTU" Vladyslav Orzul was simply “on fire”. In the first half of the game, he brought the team from Mykolaiv 19 points, hitting 5 of 8 three-point attempts. The buzzer-beater by Vladyslav tied the score (46:46), and teams went for a long break.

The pause in the game got longer due to the air raid alert. However, the competitive struggle was going on on the floor in the next 20 minutes. Already in the middle of the final quarter, Orzul had a double-double and his asset and was supported by Bohdan Lukian. "Prometey" had its own snipers in this confrontation: Mykhailo Bublyk, Denys Klevzunyk and Ihor Klimov.

It was the first match in this season with the participation of "Prometey" that got into the clutch. At the beginning of the 39th minute, Ihor Klimov hit a long-range shot making for his team a handicap of +8. As it became clear a bit later, Ihor scored the winning point in this interesting confrontation - 84:76 in favour of "Prometey".

Our team made it to the quarterfinals, and its tomorrow's opponent at this stage will be determined in the evening confrontation between "Lvivska Politekhnika" and the Sumy region team BC "SumDU".
