“Prometey” capped the game programme of the bubble in Pushcha-Vodytsia with a match against its main chaser – BC “Sambir”.

The start of the match was kind of difficult for the “titans”. In the starting quarter, “Sambir” mostly was in lead in score, even by 5 points at one of the moments. For the first time, Oleksandr Pashchenko’s team took the lead only in 8th minute (Mykyta Bezyma). However, they did not manage to win the first quarter – a tie 22:22.  Half of “Prometey” points (11) were scored in this game segment by Denys Klevzunyk.

The competitive confrontation was going on even further. In the second quarter the rivals took the lead in turns. “Prometey” surpassed the nominal hosts in fight on the boards and in moving the ball, but was inferior in the shooting accuracy including three-point shots. However, a long-range buzzer by Kleban allowed “Prometey” to go for the long break with a minimal advantage (42:41).

After the 15-minure break, the flow of the match changed drastically. The highly experienced “Sambir” players could not cope with speed offered by the “titans”. Oleksandr Pashjchenko’s squad arranged an impressive 20:2 spurt within 6 minutes of the third quarter. This spurt has determined the 22th win of “Prometey” in the championship – 88:72.

Denys Klevzunyk and Dmytro Kleban gave a great offensive performance today – 28 and 25 points respectively. Ihor Klimov gave his teammates 13 assists at once.

Our team has demonstrated the maximum possible result in two straight tours of the regular championship. All 12 participants are waiting for the third tour, which will determine all playoffs participants.
