In the final battle of the round of the Ukrainian championship High league in Slobozhanske, Prometey faced Kharkivski Sokoly. Before the team from Kharkiv started in the championship, the head coach Oleksii Zolotous noted that the team is just at the initial stage of its formation. At the same time, Sokoly’s coach named Prometey the main favourite of the league for winning the tournament.
Today, the club from Kharkiv proved its significant potential in the starting quarter. The visitors did not fall a lot to “titans” in brisk and impressive basketball. However, our team took the quarter – 23:17. After the first break, Oleksandr Pashchenko’s squad, within four and a half minutes, established a mighty spurt 14:1, which determined their another success in the bubble in many regards.
After the long break, which was much longer due to the air raid alert, it could seem that this compelled break benefited primarily the team from Kharkiv – they aced two straight three-pointers. Although after that, the visitors did not score in the third quarter at all. In turn, Prometey kept breaking away from the opponent further and further.
In the final ten-minute segment, “titans”, on the third try in this bubble, finally reached the 100-point mark after the long-range shot by Maksym Bezyma. All in all, our team won with a score of 104:36.
