Between September 22 and 24 Prometey (High league of Ukrainian championship) will participate in the pre-season tournament in Lutsk with participation of the Superleague teams Staryi Lutsk University, Rivne-RSHSM and Kyiv-Basket.

Its first confrontation, “titans” will play against the Superleague rookie Rivne RSHSM. At present, the club from Rivne is quite active in their transfer policy considering their future performance in the elite division. The first Prometey’s rival has recently signed two American legionnaires: 24-year-old guard Elijah Joyner and 26-year-old center Trenton Clayton. Talking about the last team’s control matches, they have a loss by just one possession to Hoverla-Prykarpattia and a confident win over Politekhnika-Halychyna.

On September 23, Prometey comes on the floor against the hosts, BC Staryi Lutsk University. Last season, the team sat in the Superleague the 8th, penultimate place. This summer, the club announced the signing of a guard Anton Musiienko and Americam bigman Stacey Thomas and extended contracts with Danylo Markiv, Eugen Koroviak, Petro Hlushko, Illia Bedlinskyi and Oleksandr Prozapas. In the recent control match, Staryi Lutsk lost to Hoverla-Prykarpattia by just one point.

The final tournament confrontation against Kyiv-Basket, promises Prometey to test their own strength. In the 2022/2023 season, the capital’s club was in 4th place of the Superleague. Kyiv-Basket has already announced the signing of legionnaires Danya Kingsby and Brantley Bynum, the best High league players of the last year, Ihor Starodub and Mykyta Kogut, contract extention with Vadym Zaplotynskyi, Nazarii Kisilchuk and Artur Fresh-Stahanov. Certainly, already now it is possible to talk about the team’s from Kyiv ambitions enter the top-three based on the results of the upcoming season.
