
Between September 22 and 24, Lutsk hosted a traditional preseason tournament in memory of Oleksii Veremeichyk. The participants were Prometey (High league of Ukrainian championship) and three representatives of the national Superleague – Rivne-RSHSM, Staryi Lutsk-University and Kyiv-Basket. Tournament participants played one round against each other.
All Prometey’s rivals have great ambitions for the 2023/2024 season. For instance, at its pre-seasonal presentation, Staryi Lutsk-University announced their intentions to enter the top-three teams of the championship based on the season results. This coincides with Kyiv-Basket’s goals for the new season.
In such an authoritative company, Oleksandr Pashchenko’s team managed to become a winner of the main prize! It successively defeated Rivne-RSHSM (100:95), Staryi Lutsk-University (79:70) and Kyiv-Basket (79:58).
With no doubt, Prometey was the best team at the tournament! Particularly good was the final confrontation with Kyiv-Basket, which actually was a decisive one, since both teams approached the final with two wins each. “Titans” surpassed its experienced and ambitious opponent in all regards, leading by more than 20 points all through the match.
Already now, there are all reasons to talk about excellent readiness of Oleksandr Pashchenko’s team for the season and, herewith, it has huge potential for future progress!
