Tomorrow, on March 25, “Prometey” is playing its first ever match in the play-off of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball league Pafbet. In the opening match of the up to two wins series, our team will oppose Estonian club "KK Viimsi" at the Olympic Centre Rimi.

“Prometey” approached the second part of the season as the leader of the regular championship. The rival of “red and white” has the 8th starting position in the play-off. “Viimsi” finished the first stage of the championship with 50% of victories in 30 matches.

“Prometey” is undeniable favourite of this quarterfinal confrontation. At first, Ukrainian club has won the first stage of the tournament in all regards, having allowed just one misfire on the tournament distance of three dozens of matches. At second, Ronen Ginzburg’s team did not have any problems with “Viimsi” in both matches of the regular season – 107:72 and 98:67 in our favour.

However, the statement, that before the play-off start all teams are equal, is more relevant now than ever. The way to the Final four - and “Viimsi” reached the decisive match last season – lies through just two victories.

Let’s wish “Prometey” to take the first step towards their goal. Our team currently has a league-record of 15-match home winning streak and strives to extend it by one more confrontation.
