Tomorrow, on March 4, “Prometey” will play the next match of the Latvian-Estonian league Pafbet. Herewith, our team, for the first time, will play in Liepaja against the club of the same name in a status of the winner of the regular season 2022/2023.

The upcoming match does not have any tournament weight for both opponents as Latvian club lost even theoretical chance to make it to the play-off. This looks quite weird considering the fact that “Liepaja” started the championship perfectly, with victories over “VEF Riga” and “Kalev/Cramo”. Four months ago, the team of Arturs Visockis-Rubenis made significant resistance to “Prometey”. That match in Riga for Ukrainian club turned out to be the only one with overtime in the LEBL regular season. In additional five-minute though “red and white” managed to record a victory – 96:91. Later, “Liepaja” performed extremely inconsistent failing to get qualified to the play-off.

The upcoming match is very important for our team considering the fact that next week they will resume their performance in the EuroCup. For sure, it’s not correct to compare the level of “Liepaja” and the nearest EuroCup opponent of “red and white” “Ratiopharm Ulm”, however, our team has an opportunity to work on some game moments.
