At the turn of 2022 and 2023, “Prometey” played official matches only within Latvian-Estonian basketball league Pafbet. And here, finally our team is turning back to the EuroCup battles. Tomorrow, on January 11, “Prometey” starts the second half of the 7DAYS EuroCup regular season. In Lithuanian city of Panevezys they will play with the local club “Lietkabelis Panevezys”.

Three months ago, the teams opened for themselves the current 7DAYS EuroCup season. Then in Riga, the best club of Ukraine was stronger – 82:71. That match was a typical one for the start of the season. Opponents was not able to demonstrate their best qualities, but yet “Prometey” looked stronger than its rival and absolutely deserved its historical victory in the second, as for status, tournament of European club basketball.

After that, tomorrow’s opponents obtained 4 victories in 8 matches each, herewith all successes of Lithuanian team came in home matches. As for percentage of points scored at home arena (80), “Lietkabelis Panevezys” is currently the best team of the 7DAYS EuroCup Group A.

Even this fact alone predicts that “Prometey” awaits a difficult test tomorrow. However, for any team of our group, each match of the second round wil be exactly like this. Under certain circumstances, tomorrow’s success may help “Prometey” even to lead in the standings.
