Three weeks after the exciting confrontation in Spanish Badalona against the local “Joventut”, “Prometey” switches back to the 7DAYS EuroCup game programme. If at the early November our team played against one of the favourites of this tournament, now they have to hold a match with a team that suffered four losses at the start of the EuroCup.

That is the result that “Cedevita Olimpia” from the capital of Slovenia Ljubljana currently has. With this club, Ronen Ginzburg’s team will hold their first official Euro Cup match against the representative of Slovenia.

If “Prometey” history is calculated by just four years, “Cedevita Olimpia” is younger than the best Ukrainian team by one year. The club was created on July 8, 2019 by the merge of Slovenian “Petrol Olimpia” and Croatian “Cedevita” from Zagreb. Just two years later, “Cedevita Olimpia” won the title of the Champion of Slovenia and repeated this success last season. At the same time, 2021/2022 season was highlighted for the nearest “Prometey” rival by the conquering two more club peaks – The Cup and the SuperCup.

Since 2019/2020 season, “Cedevita Olimpia” is a regular participant of the 7DAYS EuroCup and Adriatic league where clubs from the former Yugoslavia participate. In the Adriatic league, the club from Slovenia did not get higher than 4th place, and their highest achievement in the EuroCup is reaching the quarter-final of the last season tournament where they conceded to Tusrkish “Bursaspor”.

Exactly with this Turkish club, “Cedevita” began their tournament journey at the 7DAYS EuroCup this season. They did not manage to take a revenge - they lost 73:81. After that, the team lost three more times - to Romanian "Cluj Napoca" (76:94), Spanish "Joventut" (78:100) and Italian "Reyer Venezia" (68:76).

If to focus on these afflictive results for “Cedevita Olimpia”, then “Prometey” is a favourite of the upcoming confrontation. However, at such an equal, in terms of lines-up of participants, tournament like EuroCup, there cannot be any frank outsiders. Moreover, Slovenians might have considerable motivation to come off the first victory at the tournament.

To interrupt this fails streak, “Cedevita” has pretty qualified squad. The strongest players of the back line are American legionnaires Yogi Farrell and Joshua Adams. In the confrontation with “Cluj”, Adams scored 25 points; Farrell singled out with 20 points in the confrontation with “Joventut” and 27 points in the game with “Venezia”. In this match against this Italian club, “Cedevita Olimpia” significantly surpassed the opponent in the fights under the boards (43 rebounds against 27), which can be the necessary signal for “Prometey” “big” players.
