"Prometey" will play their second match within the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League (LEBL) on the road against the club "Valmiera GLASS VIA". This team represents the Latvian city of Valmiera, which is located 100 kilometers from the country's capital city Riga, not far from the border with Estonia.

Basketball club "Valmiera" was founded in 1994. The team's highest achievement is victory in the Latvian championship in the 2015/2016 season. "Valmiera" became the bronze medalist of the championship three more times (seasons 2002/2003, 2004/2005, 2012/2013). From 2007 to 2009, the team was managed by Ainars Bagatskis, who needs no introduction to any basketball fan of our country. With Bagatskis, "Valmiera" twice took 5th place in the championship of their country.

Recently, the "Prometey" rival has not been able to approach the achievement of the 2015/2016 season. In the LEBL, the team did not get higher the 10th place, constantly remaining outside the playoffs. "Valmiera" started awry the current season in the league as well. In terms of individual actions, American legionnaire Justin McCall (15 points and 8 rebounds) and 22-year-old offensive guard Walters Veveris (15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists) can be highlighted in Valmiera.

McCall is one of the five legionnaires of the team, among them there is also Ukrainian player Ivan Tokovenko. Ivan is an 18-year-old center with a height of 212 cm. He cut his teeth in Cherkasy basketball. Last season, the young giant mostly played for the second team of "Cherkaski Mavpy", only occasionally involving to the games of the main team. In the match against "Ventspilas", Tokovenko was not even listed in the application.
