
Ukrainian forward Artem Kovaliov will continue his career in Estonian Viimsi, which is a rival of Prometey in the Latvian-Estonian basketball league. He spent last season in Lithuanian BC Pieno Zvaigzdes. In Ukraine, before the full-scale russia’s invasion, he played for Khimik from Yuzhne and capital’s Kyiv-Basket.
Kovaliov also took part in four matches of Ukrainian National team within European part of selection for the World Cup-2023.
Prometey opposed to Viimsi twice in the regular LEBL championship of the 2022/23 season, attaining two wins in them. “Titans” also defeated Estonian club the playoff quarterfinal series with an overall score of 2-1.
On September 30, Prometey will begin the new season of the Latvian-Estonian league exactly with the match against Viimsi. The second confrontation between the teams has been scheduled for February 4.
Earlier, another Estonian club, which participates in the LEBL – Tartu – signed acontract with Ukrainian player Anatolii Shundel.
