The International Basketball Federation held the draw for the group stage of the World Cup 2023, which will be held from August 25 to September 10, 2023 in three countries: Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines. The draw divided the teams into eight groups, with four teams in each. The team of "Prometey" player Gian Clavell, Puerto Rico national team, also found out their opponents. These are South Sudan, Serbia and China. According to the tournament regulations, two best teams from each group will enter the second round.

Gian Clavell is so far the only player from the current "Prometey" roster who has a real chance to play in the main basketball tournament in a few months. As a reminder, that last season our Puerto Rican player became the MVP of the LEBL season and the best shooter of "Prometey" in the EuroCup.
